In building lighting system projects, the lighting control panel is often regarded as a relatively "simple" device. However, in actual project implementation, it directly affects system stability, maintenance convenience, and long‑term operational reliability. Neglecting details during fabrication or installation often leads to various problems after the system is put into operation. Therefore, from an engineering perspective, special attention must be paid to the following aspects during the fabrication and installation of lighting control panels.

 

I. Panel Structure and Space Layout

When manufacturing a lighting control panel, the internal structure must first be properly planned.

Components such as control modules, circuit breakers, relays, power supplies, and terminal blocks should be arranged by functional zones.

High‑voltage and low‑voltage sections should be separated as much as possible to reduce interference.

Wiring should be clearly labeled with unified numbering, and terminal blocks must be marked with circuit names.

Cables should be routed neatly and securely fastened to avoid tension or loose connections.

In engineering practice, many faults are not caused by defective equipment, but by messy wiring or unclear labeling, which makes maintenance difficult.

IV. On‑Site Installation and Environmental Adaptation

During on‑site installation, environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, ventilation, and dust protection must be considered.

For special environments such as underground parking garages and outdoor equipment rooms, enclosures with higher protection ratings should be used.

The panel should be installed in an easily accessible location for operation and maintenance.

Cable entries and exits must be properly arranged to avoid excessive bending or overcrowding.

Cable trays or conduits should be used for standardized routing when necessary.

V. Commissioning and System Integration

After installation, system commissioning and linkage testing must be performed, including:

  • Circuit on/off testing
  • Control logic verification
  • Emergency lighting linkage testing

A complete commissioning process can identify potential issues in advance and ensure stable and reliable operation when the system is officially activated.
